About
Hello, my name is Timo Algvere. Following my father's footsteps I got into electricity, and that interest has grown to include data science.
I started out as an electrician, after conscription, I felt I wanted to do more and got my BSc in Electrical Engineering. My bachelor's thesis was about figuring out transformers remaining useful life by combining data from different types of oil samples, and that made me realize I wanted to work with data even more. Now, I'm getting my Master's in Applied Physics and Data Science at Tallinn University of Technology which is giving me new insights in data analysis and mathematical modeling.
In addition to my academic studies, I also got a lot of real-world experience in the energy sector. I've worked on distribution network dispatching, planning substation automation, and figuring out how reliable systems are. I'm now managing electrical grid maintenance for Tallinn, where I'm in charge of the city's electrical stuff and maintenance agreements.
I am passionate about leveraging quantitative methods to extract insights from data and build efficient systems. Feel free to explore my detailed CV, browse my projects, or learn about my other interests.
